I'm not working on this yet, but the Twitter API is so simple that it's gotta be easy to do this. The tough part will be the UI, if you want to make a HUD or something.
Hi! Found your blog post by googling twitter and second life. I also think this would be a great idea, though I'm wondering if this wouldn't also be a good place to come up with some sort of generalized RSS parser for SL if there isn't one already?
I might play with this idea a bit tonight. I'm thinking it might also be good to start a centralized Second Life twitter so we can funnel through that.
Yes, Ordinal Malaprop in Caledon is working on the Twitter SL interface and talking about it on Twitter and elsewhere, I think it has some 'issues' but she's using it.
Came by to tuck a link in to Ordinal's TwitterBox and see Prok's got it covered :^)
Ordinal's been kind enough to open source it, which is great, because I don't like the idea of my username and password going through someone else's hands/server. The code was very easy to set up, and Ordinal's continuing to innovate. Cool little tool!

Just got done pondering this on Twitter ... lol

~lights go on~ yoinking the Twitter RSS feed to attempt to stream it into the computer in my office in SL (... hearing voices again ... ~smacks head~)
~whines~ I donna have no Mac ... (slinks shamelessly away to the confessional, PC-lovin' tail between my legs)

There are some neat RSS readers I've seen in-world, but I can't recall right now where. Maybe do a search?
I'm totally not working on this at all right now. ;-)
